Plastic the Revolution Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 11, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Plastic Impact Network LLC ("PIN," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Plastic the Revolution application, website, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. Questions can be sent to info@plasticimpactnetwork.com.

2. Information you provide

Account information. Your email address and password. Passwords are stored as salted hashes by our authentication system; we cannot see them. The Service assigns you a public identifier (your "Public ID").

Activity content. Cleanup logs (dates, descriptions, materials, and weights), any location information you deliberately type into a log or an event listing, photos you upload (see Section 4), and community and event names, descriptions, and posts.

Events. Events you create, your RSVPs, and organizer invitations you send or receive.

Legal acknowledgment records. When you accept the Terms of Use at signup, confirm you are 18 or older, or complete a host or attendee acknowledgment at event creation or RSVP, we record that acceptance along with the version of the text you accepted and a timestamp.

Communications. Messages you send us, such as support requests or content reports.

3. Information collected automatically

Log and device data. IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, timestamps, and similar diagnostic information.

Cookies. We use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in sessions and security. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Location. We do not collect precise GPS location from your device. Location appears in the Service only where you deliberately enter it, such as an event address or a cleanup description, and GPS metadata embedded in photos is removed on upload as described in Section 4.

4. Photo metadata removal

When you upload a photo, we automatically strip embedded metadata, including GPS coordinates and other EXIF data, before the photo is stored on our systems. The original metadata is not retained. This is a deliberate privacy protection: it prevents a photo from unintentionally revealing where it was taken, such as a home address. The visible content of the photo is not changed, so please review images for identifying details before uploading.

5. What is public

Your Public ID, your impact figures, your badges and tier, and content you post to communities, events, and leaderboards may be visible to other users and, where features allow, publicly. Your legal name and email address are not displayed publicly by the Service. Remember that anything visible in a photo or written in a description is visible to the audience of that surface.

6. How we use information

We use information to: provide and operate the Service; create and authenticate your account; send transactional email such as verification, password reset, and organizer invitations; display your activity as described in Section 5; moderate content and enforce our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines, including reviewing logs for accuracy and integrity; secure the Service and prevent fraud and abuse; comply with legal obligations; and understand usage so we can improve the Service.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and the Service contains no third-party ads.

7. How we share information

Service providers. We share information with providers who process it on our behalf and only to provide services to us: Resend (transactional email delivery) and Hostinger (application hosting and data storage).

Other users and the public. As described in Section 5.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information if we believe it is required by law or legal process, or is necessary to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users, the public, or the Company.

Business transfers. If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice of any change in ownership or in how your information is handled.

8. Data retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, and copies in routine backups are purged within 90 days. Some records are retained longer where we have a legal reason to do so, including records of legal acknowledgments and consents, and records needed to comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or defend legal claims. Content you shared with others may remain visible as described in the Terms of Use.

9. Your rights and choices

You can view and update your account information in the app's settings. You can delete your account at Settings > Account > Delete Account or by emailing info@plasticimpactnetwork.com, and deletion works as described in Section 8. You can request a copy of your data by emailing info@plasticimpactnetwork.com. Transactional email cannot be turned off while you hold an account, because it is necessary to operate the account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights; contact us and we will honor the rights available to you under applicable law.

10. Age requirement

The Service is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and no one under 18 may create an account. Minors who are present at an in-person event with their parent or legal guardian do not create accounts, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting a photo in which a minor is identifiable without the consent of the minor's parent or legal guardian. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account or that we hold personal information about a minor, contact info@plasticimpactnetwork.com and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Where information is processed

We operate the Service from the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice, such as by email or in-app notice, and will update the effective date above.
